A few weeks ago I bought the Ultra 2024 as my first airbrush ever and I love it! I jumped into airbrushing blindly and just started to hear about the problems that some people seem to have with clogging and stuff like that, now that I am watching some tutorials and stuff. I mainly just use the ultra for priming and basecoating right now, but I have never had any issues with clogging or anything at all really. I clean the tip of the needle every 10-20 models or something and that's it - smooth sailing! What I especially like is the lock that prevents you from pulling the needle back without pushing the trigger first. I sometimes feel it, when I don't properly press the trigger down. I can definitely tell that it's "teaching" me correct technique 😅 The only issue I have is that the cup doesn't seal properly and a bit of paint leaks out of the cup onto the body of the airbrush. I tried pushing the cup in, as tight as possible, but still a bit of paint or cleaner is leaking. I don't know if it's a common problem with this model or if it's just my particular airbrush. Nonetheless I would definitely recommend the ultra 2024 to anyone, especially if you're getting into airbrushing. I'm having a blast with this thing and I feel like it helped me to avoid all the things that give people a bad first experience with airbrushing 👍

Warrick, I loved your work on this and I get the same excitement painting dragons! Quick question, what was your psi set to during this? Especially curious cause you were very close up with the airbrush at times.

shortening trigger-nozzle distance is great but not at the expense of being able to fit a larger paint cup. that was the deal breaker for me on the Giraldez. hopefully the 2024 Infinity can find a good balance

Any updates on release date? I want to buy an Infinity but am waiting for the 2024 update.

As a scale model builder who currently uses a Badger, I was looking forward to upgrading to a much nicer brush. I was looking at the infinity. Some people do not want just an extreme detail brush where everything comes down in a narrow cone. When laying down base coats I need to be able to lay down a nice even flow of paint across a descent area quickly. Hopefully the 0.4mm version isn't completely extreme detail oriented.

I would like to have the posibillity to have a heavy trigger pull on the Infinity 2024. The reason for it is that I've got more control that way. It fine with me if I've to buy a stiffer spring or whatever is suitable for that in order to get a stiffer trigger on my airbrush as I know that most heigh end airbrush users prefer a featherlight trigger action. My hands and fingers is permanently damaged due to several different injuries over the years so I've problems with featherlight triggers.

I have to buy a new car… that said, I’m going to buy a H&S as soon as I can. It’s this kind of marketing that sold me on this brand. You didn’t say if “have a H&S airbrush” but you said “there’s a lot of good airbrushs out there.” It’s upfront marketing, and something you don’t see enough of. I appreciate that, but I do have a kid on the way, and my hobbies are going to have to take a back seat.

You mentioned that removing the needle out the front or back really doesn't matter. I have to disagree. As there are as many "experts" as there are airbrush users, MY common sense tells me to ALWAYS remove a used/dirty needle out the front so to not subject the needle packing seal to any crusty/dried paint on the needle that would happen if it were removed out the rear. AND, a clean needle should always be inserted from the rear as to have the tapered point be "guided" in/through the seal and not the flat/blunt end of the needle if it were to be inserted from the front. The last point to make is when reassembling your airbrush after cleaning, only "tighten" lightly any screw threads until seated. One or two INCH POUNDS - finger snug, is really all that is required. Overall a good video that basically says - "if it is working, don't fix it" 🙂

what is the recommended airbrush cleaner that will not destroy the o-rings in the Ultra 2024? I use Tamiya Acrylic paints and Mr Hobby. I thin my paints using Mr Color thinner.

Between these videos and the Poorhammer guys buying a high end H&S airbrush for their airbrush video and praising just how genuinely ridiculously good it is, I'm convinced these are the way to go for more detailed work. Though my $70 (NZD) Formula airbrush has served me well for basic airbrush work on miniatures, might need to trear myself when that new Infinity releases!

Quick question when you set you pressure at 25 psi do you set it while spraying air though the brush or is that 25 set as the static pressure with no air moving?

Well done! What psi settings are you using? I've tried 20 psi and 50/50 mix on Vallejo model color and had some clogging issues.

So I watched your other videos first and you responded and help me there. Thank you then I realized that you partnered with Squid and did a special limited edition airbrush with them, which I was looking at getting. But I’m still a new beginner and I am struggling with my current airbrush. Are you going to make a limited edition version of the ultra with squid and his team if so, I’d wait for that, I can print for seven months and not pay because well I’m scared to. The superlube tip is great. As we should know, the reverse of a primed surface that makes paint stick is an oily surface that paint just doesnt adhere to very well. Any accidental paint just comes off immediately.

I know I keep saying it, but every day is a school day - and I've been model making and painting since 1971/72, been lucky enough to be published and I've won the occasional prize (it's not really about competition for me, but therapy, but from time to time I was encouraged to enter events). The subtlety and the excellence of H&S airbrushes in skilled hands never ceases to amaze me.

Hello, can I get a link so I can buy one I live in California. I run a small 3-D prancing business and just got into model painting as a side business for it so this would be very helpful for me when things I’ve learned is people don’t wanna do the 3-D printing but they want to do the painting so I 3-D print and prime and then send you a 3-D printed model with all the magnets and primer ready to go for you assemble and paint, and this airbrush showing really could help me get better actually painting on my own

Thanks for that. I started airbrushing about a year ago but I've been put off by all the cleaning and stripping I had to do which exceeded my actual painting time by orders of magnitude. This video has inspired me to put the rattle cans to one side for a moment to have another stab at airbrushing!

Great to see Stephen back for some miniature painting. Alot of people say that an airbrush booth is an absolute must have, but i have noticed that you never use one in any of your videos. What are your thoughts on a spray booth, are they really needed?

Sketching caps coming as standard is a great idea. I think it's definitely the right move.

I picked one up and I like almost everything about it, except I reeeeeealy miss the ability to do blowback colour mixing. The 4 holes on the aircap makes it impossible to do by hand, if it was 1 or 2 holes I might be able to do it, but unfortunately I'm not an octopus. I tried the H&S plastic cap for mixing, but the grooves that help to screw the air cap on bite into the plastic and wear it away fast. Tried with a nitrile glove, but it gets messy sometimes. Are there any other compatible air caps that I could use with the ultra2024 from any of the other H&S airbrushes?
